BILLET PRO SHOP 2016 RECAP!

Before I start, here is a quick recap of 2015 for the shop’s VMP GEN 2 equipped & Lund Racing calibrated ’07 GT500:

Record 60′ in a manual shifted s-197 (1.29 seconds)

For 2016 we completely reworked the GT500, literally. Stripped right down to the bare chassis, we embarked ourselves in a huge overhaul for the beast. On the list was a wire tuck/PCM and fuse box relocation, a new 8.5 legal cage, our new single belt drive and a show paint engine bay to name a few. Since we were already playing around in the wiring we decided to simplify it by deleting all unwanted accessories. New suspension upgrades were also on the list to take care of our front end lifting issue. Up front we tested out Menscer’s latest struts for the S-197 chassis and Viking’s Crusaders with BPS Spring and Perches for the rear. Here is what we have accomplished:

NBT: 8.53 (NEW Mustang 6-speed record)

Best MPH of 166.59

Record 60′ in a manual shifted s-197 once again (1.27 seconds)

Enjoy the gallery from start to where we’re at today. Lots of man hours but well worth the effort! Watch for this car next year as it will be equipped with a Liberty Z-style clutchless transmission! If all goes well, first testing will be done at NMRA Bradenton in March 2017.
